What the check shows

  • Whether the license is genuine and currently active
  • The license type and territory
  • When it became active, when the creation window ends and how long the work may be used

What stays private

  • The talent and the licensee (a certificate check shows them)
  • The brief and end client (a certificate check shows the production title)
  • The price and payment details

Production certificates

A CERT code also shows the production title, the talent and the licensee — the producer chose to make them public when the certificate was issued.

To protect license holders, lookups are limited to 20 per hour from each network. Platforms, broadcasters, clients and talent use this check to confirm that a production is properly licensed.
