Licensing guide

One clear license for every production

Four license types, three add-ons and a price set by the talent. Every license is worldwide, non-exclusive and approved by the person whose face it is — request by request, or in advance through Auto-Casting.

The license table

Scope

What every license includes — and what it never does

These rules are the same on every license, whichever talent you work with.

Every license includes

  • WorldwidePublish the work in any country. There is no regional pricing.
  • Non-exclusiveThe talent can license their likeness to others, including brands in your category.
  • Commercial useUse the work to promote, sell and earn — within the licensed usage type.
  • AI reference useUse the reference pack as input to AI image and video tools for the licensed production. Switch off training on your uploads whenever the tool allows it.
  • Your team and your clientYour contractors on the production and the named end client may work with the files for that production.

No license ever includes

  • Training AI modelsNo training or fine-tuning of models, LoRAs, avatars or voice clones on the talent's likeness.
  • Sublicensing or resaleNo passing on the files or the rights, except to your contractors and the named end client.
  • The talent's legal name or endorsementNo use of their real name, and nothing that suggests they personally endorse a product or message.
  • Use outside the licenseNo use in another usage type, beyond the licensed quantity, or after the term ends.

Pricing

One price, calculated the same way every time

Talents set their own price per unit, in US dollars. Producers see a single price with no VAT added, and Nuva's fees come out of the talent's share — never on top.

How the total is calculated

Total equals unit price times quantity, plus add-on price times quantity.

  • Talents set their prices freely, in US dollars. The price a producer sees is the price they pay.
  • No VAT is added to a price. Nuva's Platform fee, 25%, is taken from the price, so the talent receives 75% of the price; 7% VAT on the Platform fee is deducted from the talent's payout.
  • Each add-on is priced as a multiple of the license fee, for example 2 × the license fee.
  • No territory or duration multipliers — every license is worldwide with a fixed term.
  • The price is fixed when you send your request, and it's the amount you're charged on approval.
  • Pay in US dollars by card, or in Thai baht by card — or by PromptPay when the talent's Auto-Casting approves your request at once. The baht amount is fixed when you send your request, at Nuva's exchange rate.

Worked example

A brand campaign whose merchandise also carries the talent's likeness.

Advertising license1 campaign
US$69.00
Merchandise add-on (2 × license fee)1 campaign
US$138.00
Producer pays (no VAT or fees added)
US$207.00

How the payment is shared

Talent receives75% of the price
US$155.25
Platform fee (25%)On the price — never added on top
US$51.75
VAT (7%) on the Platform feeDeducted from the talent's payout
US$3.62

The talent's share clears for 14 days. The talent then requests a payout by the 22nd, and Nuva pays it on the 25th — in Thai baht to a Thai bank account, in US dollars to a bank outside Thailand or PayPal.

The brief and sensitive scenarios

No genre list — the brief describes the use

Producers don't pick genres. They describe the intended use in the brief, and only sensitive scenarios need the talent's opt-in.

Described in the brief

The brief becomes part of the license. It describes the use within the license type and add-ons chosen, and can't extend them.

  • What the work is
  • Where it runs
  • Who it's for (the end client, for advertising)

Sensitive scenarios

Nuva review + talent approval

These five are off by default. A talent can opt in, and even then a request that includes one must name it, and Auto-Casting never approves it. Nuva reviews those requests before they reach the talent, usually within 24 hours, and the talent still gives — or refuses — explicit approval.

  • Boys’ Love (BL) / Girls’ Love (GL)

Portraying the Talent in same-sex romantic relationships, storylines or character roles, including Boys’ Love (BL) and Girls’ Love (GL) productions, whether or not physical intimacy is involved.

  • Intimate Scenes

Romantic or intimate interactions, including kissing, embracing or other non-explicit physical intimacy.

  • Sexual Appearance (Non-Nude)

Sexually suggestive appearances, styling, clothing or portrayals that do not involve nudity or otherwise prohibited sexual content.

  • Death / Dying

Scenes portraying the Talent's character dying, deceased or experiencing a fictional death.

  • Villain / Morally Negative Role

Portraying the Talent as a villain, antagonist, criminal or character engaging in morally negative behavior within a fictional production.

How licensing works

From request to reference pack

Every license follows the same path, and nothing is charged until it's approved — by the talent, or at once through their Auto-Casting.

  1. 01

    Send a request

Choose the usage type, add-ons, quantity and any sensitive scenario, name the production (and the end client for advertising) and describe the intended use in your production brief. Tick one box to accept the Usage Scope, Producer Agreement, Prohibited Use Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, then authorize your card: the request goes to the talent — or to Nuva first if it includes a sensitive scenario.

    Producer

  2. 02

    The talent decides

The talent approves, asks for changes or declines — or, with Auto-Casting on, a standard request is approved as soon as you send it. If the talent asks for changes, declines or doesn't reply in time, the hold on your card is released.

    Within 24 hours

  3. 03

    Charged on approval

When the talent approves, your card is charged the price of your request, processed securely by Stripe. With Auto-Casting you pay as soon as it's approved — by card, or by PromptPay in Thai baht — within 24 hours. If a charge doesn't go through, you pay on the license page within 7 days.

    On approval

  4. 04

    License active

Your request's LIC code, assigned when you sent it, now identifies an active license. You also get a payment receipt, and anyone can check the license is genuine on our Verify page.

    Right after payment

  5. 05

    Download your pack

Your own reference pack is ready right away. Download links last 10 minutes, with up to 5 downloads per pack. If the talent adds new photos while your creation window is open, we'll notify you and you can download an updated pack.

    During the creation window

  6. 06

    Wrap up

When the creation window closes, delete the reference pack and confirm it in your portal. Finished work stays licensed for its term.

    End of the creation window

Sensitive requests: Nuva reviews first

Usually within 24 hours

If your request includes a sensitive scenario, Nuva staff review it before it reaches the talent. We send it on, or decline it with a reason. Our review isn't the talent's consent: the talent still approves, asks for changes or declines.

Refunds under the Refund & Cancellation Policy

Licenses whose request was sent (or re-sent) since the Refund & Cancellation Policy took effect on 27 Oct 2026: refunds follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy — write to cs@nuva-license.com. Licenses requested before: cancel within 7 days of paying and before your first download, and we'll refund you in full.

Auto-Casting

A talent can turn on Auto-Casting: a standard request within their rules and prices is approved as soon as you send it, and you pay straight away — by card, or by PromptPay in Thai baht. A request with a sensitive scenario always needs the talent's explicit approval.

Reference pack

What you download

Each license comes with its own reference pack — enough detail for AI reference work, without ever handing over the master files.

  • Every accepted photo

One JPEG for each photo the talent uploaded that passed our check, in this order: 5 headshots, 3 full-body photos and up to 5 free-style photos. The count varies by talent.

  • 3,072 px on the long edge

Sharp, consistent reference for image and video generation tools.

  • A copy made for you

Generated for your license only, with a Delivery ID and SHA-256 fingerprint on record.

  • 10-minute download links

Signed links expire after 10 minutes. Request a fresh one whenever you need it.

  • Up to 5 downloads per pack

If the talent adds photos while your creation window is open, you get an updated pack with a fresh download allowance. Every download is logged.

  • Delete when creation ends

At the end of the creation window, delete the pack and confirm in your portal.
